How to assess your language level?
The use of languages is becoming increasingly important in business every day. Mastering different languages allows you to grow your company or establish agreements with foreign partners. It’s time to become multilingual! But first of all, you need to assess your language level. You have some basic knowledge and you are able to speak the language a little. How can you describe your level on a scale?
Don’t panic! Europe has thought of everything! The CEFR, or Common European Framework of Reference, was designed to provide a transparent, coherent and as comprehensive as possible basis for developing language programmes and assessing foreign language skills.
The CEFR is not just a simple scale. It allows you to determine your abilities based on a detailed analysis. The points covered in the analysis are communication, themes, tasks and objectives, as well as scaled descriptions of the skills needed for communication.
This framework is divided into six language levels.

A1 – You can communicate using very simple sentence structures.
A2 – You can exchange information concerning your daily life.
B1 – You can speak the language in an understandable, coherent and confident way on everyday topics.
B2 – You use the language effectively and can express yourself precisely.
C1 – You communicate more fluently and in a more complex and spontaneous way on a variety of topics.
C2 – You have the ability to understand written and spoken language effortlessly, use the language with ease and argue about complex subjects. Once you have reached this level, you are fully bilingual.
